The Lord’s servant calls for unceasing praise to Jehovah

This is the last of the Songs of Degrees. We are reminded here that while we are sleeping others are praying, whether in our time zone or the far side of the world. These watchmen may be ministers, or they may be from church members, as exampled by Anna, “Who departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”

Lifted hands, intimating lifted prayers and adoration, never cease, wheresoever faith is found. Prayers to Christ and for Christ incessantly ascend. This is demonstrated in Psalm 72:15, “Prayer shall be made for Him continually, and daily shall He be praised.” The prayer warriors seek a blessing upon God’s people, and it proceeds out of Zion and upon Zion. It is there the blessing is commanded.

Psalm 134

1  Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye
       that his attendants are,
Ev'n you that in God's temple be,
       and praise him nightly there.

2  Your hands within God's holy place
lift up, and praise his name.
3  From Zion' hill the Lord thee bless,
that heav'n and earth did frame.
